The 9 function switch fitted to all Ilve and Bertazzoni cookers are very similar. The only difference is the graphics may vary depending when the cooker was built. Below is a generic version of our sticker which you can copy or request from our office.
The 9 function chart also applies to Britannia cookers, built from 1996 to present day.
This setting uses your base element only and is great for slow cooking dishes like stew, casseroles and sweet and savory flans.
This setting uses just element behind the rear panel. This allows to cook several different foods at once and is great for baking cakes, biscuits and muffins.
This setting uses the outer upper element on the roof of the oven along side the base element underneath the base of the oven. This is ideal for cooking on one shelf only for things like bread and fruit cakes
This setting uses the fan element at the rear of the oven as well as the outer element at the top of the oven. Quickstart provides a fast preheat system, 0-200°c in less than half the time of a standard oven. Defrost is for the safe defrosting of small items such as fish and poultry pieces and is ideal for the gentle thawing of cream cakes and desserts.
This setting uses the base element alongside the fan element at the back of the oven.
This setting is perfect for cooking pizzas and different breads. It operates similar to an old fashioned baking oven hot on the base and heat from the rear of the oven.
This setting uses the same settings at a conventional oven with the addition of the circulation fan.
Its ideal for cooking roast meats, poultry, fish and roasted vegetables. This setting is designed to brown the food as well as cook. It not suitable for cakes or pastry.
This setting uses the inner element in the roof as well as the fan element at the back of the oven allowing you to grill items on both sides at the same time.
This is perfect for food like bacon, sausages and pork chops.
Place the food either on the grill pan on the second shelf down from the top. For best results place the food on the second shelf on the grill pan grid with the grill pan underneath to catch the oil.
This setting the outer top element will glow. Generates a more delicate heat and is generally used for browning lasagna, moussaka, cottage pie, cheese toppings on gratin dishes.
This setting uses the inner part of the top element focusing the heat downward. Suitable for snacks such as crumpets, muffins, teacakes and cheese on toast.
